Hollow fiber ultrafiltration

Elmatec designs and manufactures turnkey ultrafiltration units to address your specific problems or requirements.

Ultrafiltration is a membrane separation process that aims to retain particles contained in a fluid. The fluid is filtered under pressure through a porous medium, the membrane.

The membrane traps particles larger than 0.02 µm. Ultrafiltration thus makes it possible to obtain water that is free of suspended solids and colloids while also providing a physical barrier against bacteria and viruses.

The ZEEWEED range by Suez offers excellent performance characteristics:

  • Ensures turbidity < 0.1 FNU
  • Ensures a Silt Density Index (SDI) < 3
  • Eliminates bacteria: 6 log
  • Eliminates viruses: 4 log
  • Preserves the trace elements of the water because ultrafiltration does not retain salts (cations and anions)

ZEEWEED ultrafiltration modules have a large filtration area which ensures high productivity with low energy costs. Hollow fiber ultrafiltration is a compact and modular technology. Its operation is automated and straightforward (automatic backwashing).
